My name is Sarah Purdin. I teach Health at Wilson High School in beautiful Tacoma, Washington. My husband Gordon, is an Engineer for Union Pacific Railroad. We have had shorthairs since the summer of 2010. Our original breed is Boxers, which we loved, showed (with the help of a professional handler), and bred a couple of nice litters. When Gordon said he wanted to start hunting birds we researched breeds and decided shorthairs were the perfect breed for us. We waited very patiently for the right one and ended up with our first girl, Olivia. We have met and become "family" with some amazing people in this breed and feel very blessed to have had such a wonderful start. I have not only shown our dogs in the conformation ring, something I never had the courage to do in boxers, but have also run them in hunt tests, and earned obedience and rally titles with them as well. Gordon now has the hunting dog he has always wanted, Olivia is truly a Daddy's girl. And Maysn, my heart dog, has become my trusted service dog, accompanying me to school on most days. ;-) Having shorthairs has truly changed our lives.
